International Year of Glass 2022.
International Year Glass. 2022 has been declared the Year of Glass by the UN. In February, the opening in which the goals for the coming years in terms of glass are announced. In this special year they want to make glass even more possible to put on the map. Alicia Duran. The president of the International Glass Commission (ICG) shapes the programme. She is going to put glass back on the map, together with the sponsors of the event. Ms. Duran also has the message that in 2022 everyone will take every opportunity to celebrate all things “glassy”.
Glass is everywhere and always. The material plays an increasingly important role in our lives. From bottles for vaccines to fiberglass and from the artistic application of the material to the windows and facades in homes and offices. That is why the ICG is publishing a book during the start of the UN International Year of Glass, or IYOG for short, in which it sheds light on these ambitions. Think of the increasing need for daylight and better insulation and sun protection of buildings at the same time
